Clarice Ann Scheffler, 96, of Albany, passed away Wednesday at the Mennonite Village.

Clarice was born in Ericson, Nebraska to Leo and Annie (Harris) Clouse. She married Quentin Scheffler in 1941 and then moved to Oregon in 1955. Clarice worked for 13 years as a manager at Safeway in Albany and then spent 13 years as manager of the LBCC Bookstore. She was also an longtime member of the First Christian Church in Albany.

She traveled to over 50 countries and read constantly. “There are always more books to read!”

Clarice is survived by her children, Laurel Perkins of Temecula, California, Marilyn Young of Cave Junction, Carl Scheffler of Eugene, and Linda Conard of Miles City, Montana; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Quentin; and daughter, Allegra Scheffler.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Mennonite Village Lakeside Center.
