Georgia Parker, 88 died in her home in Albany, Oregon. She was born in Canistota, South Dakota, the sixth daughter of George and Anna Krantz. She graduated from Canistota High School in 1947 and went to Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls, SD, after which she was employed with Northern States Power Company.


Georgia married Harold Parker on Aug 22, 1953 and they had one daughter, Tanya Jo Parker. They lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota until 1960 when they moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 1961 they moved to San Bernardino, California. During that time she enjoyed being a housewife and mother. In 1969 they moved to Albany, Oregon. They attended the First Christian Church where Georgia became employed as the Office Administrator for thirty years until she retired in June 2000. Harold and Georgia moved to the Mennonite Village in 2002 where she did occasional volunteer work.

Georgia enjoyed gardening, yard work, and camping. In 1997 she and Harold traveled to the east coast for 2 months visiting friends, relatives and sightseeing. They made several trips to South Dakota and California to visit family and travelled numerous places for family reunions.

Her family and those who knew her loved Georgia dearly. She was kind, loving and always in grace as she cared about her family and herself, all while struggling with lung problems most of her life.

She was preceded in death by Harold (2015), her parents and five sisters, Alta Halgerson, Ursula Westre, Velma Williamson, Verna Dawson and Eileen Schaffer.

Survivors include her daughter and husband, Tanya and Mike Dadaos, her grandson and wife, Jamey and Jenny Dadaos, and her great granddaughter, Riley Rose Dadaos, all living in Ashland, Oregon. She also has many surviving nieces, nephews and their families.

A memorial service and reception will be held at the First Christian Church at 12 pm noon on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, followed by a reception. Private interment will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
