Surrounded by her family and best friend, Lorie Andrews passed gracefully into the arms of the Lord on February 4, 2017, following a two-year bout with cancer. As a four-time cancer survivor over the past 31 years, she faced all of those challenges courageously.

The daughter of Jacob & Mildred (Knaub) Kautz she was born in Billings, MT on October 9, 1941. Her childhood years were spent on a farm in the Huntley Project where she attended schools in Worden, MT. Following the death of her father in 1954, her mother and her moved to Billings where she graduated from Billings Sr High in 1959.

With her two children from a previous marriage, she moved to Albany, OR in 1970 where she held various secretarial jobs at 1st Interstate Bank, SWF Plywood, Crown Zellerbach and United Way of Linn County. She began to find her calling when she worked in the drapery department at Sears and JC Penny, finding that decorating was her passion. She joined Home Interiors & Gifts and was a party plan decorator for over 20 years, and eight years for Celebrating Home. With her outgoing personality she enjoyed the party atmosphere, meeting people and making new friendships along the way.

Together with her best friend, Sonya Key, they decorated many Christmas trees for the Festival of Trees benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Albany. Their shopping trips to find specialty items was a favorite past time, with elegance always being their goal. She dearly loved her flowers both in her garden and the arrangements she beautifully created for her home. Seasonal changes in décor were in order as everything had its special place for each holiday and season.

On November 15, 1975, she married Stan Andrews uniting his children with hers. Her family was an important part of her life. Family gatherings for holidays were a special joy to her.
