February 21, 2003 - May 3, 2017
Born in Eugene, Oregon
Resided in Corvallis, OR
She was born on February 21, 2003, to Timothy & Carrie Paup, in Eugene, Oregon. She was diagnosed with Aicardi Syndrome when she was 3 days old. Macey's medical condition brought a lot of challenges into her life, but she lived each day with a happy, positive outlook. She loved spending time with her family, watching movies, being outdoors and taking family road trips. Despite never being able to talk or walk, she made a big impact on all those who knew & loved her. She was able to enjoy a lot of things throughout her 14 years, including trips to Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, her favorite Oregon beach (Nye Beach) & attending countless soccer games for her sisters. She loved balloons, feeling the wind on her face & spending time in her hammock. She enjoyed the simple things in life that most of us take for granted.
She attended Jefferson Elementary School & Linus Pauling Middle School, where she had many teachers, therapists, aides and classmates, who loved her dearly. Macey brought a lot of wonderful people into our lives. She seemed to have a way of bringing out the best in people. Her sweet spirit taught us a lot about what really matters in this world. We will forever be grateful for the lessons she taught us, and we will miss her for the rest of our days.
Macey is survived by her parents, Timothy & Carrie, her loving sisters Caleigh & Kendall, her grandparents, Nick & Bonnie Bruno & Jeff & Debbie Conklin, as well as a large extended family, including many Uncles, Aunts & Cousins, who all loved her very much.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 10th at 11:00am at Northwest Hills Church: 3300 NW Walnut Blvd. Corvallis, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Macey's name to the Aicardi Syndrome Foundation P.O. Box 3202, St. Charles, IL 60174.
