Born in Shiritori, Japan
Resided in Albany, Oregon

September 27, 1935---February 1, 2018

Victor S. Lavrov was born in northern Japan in 1935 and graduated from the prestigious Saint Joseph College, a prep school for boys founded by the Alsatian Brothers of the Society of Mary. He left Japan in 1956 to migrate to Australia. The US Army training on IBM Punched Card Equipment that he received and four languages under his belt, learned in a cosmopolitan city, had found him a way out of a dismal, war-torn Japan. By the grace of God, he left Australia in June of 1963 and immigrated to the United States, settling in the San Francisco Bay area. Since retirement in 2000 and moving to Albany, Oregon, he spent leisure time writing a trilogy of his memoirs and played a 1950’s Fender triple-neck steel guitar with a western Hank Williams tribute band.

Victor is survived by his son Adrian of Albany and brother George of Terra Linda, California.

A funeral service will be at 11am Saturday February 10th at the St. Joseph of Petersburg Orthodox Church, 27950 SE Haley Rd., Boring, Oregon 97009. Interment will be in the First Serbian Benevolent Society Cemetery in Colma, California.
